SHE Manager
As SHE Manager you are responsible for continuously maintaining a high level of safety, health and environmental performance at the Mora production site in Maastricht. You ensure that the organisation always operates with assured systems.
You are responsible for establishing, implementing and securing all management systems for environment, safety and health at the Maastricht production site, in order to meet all internal and external requirements in these areas. You report directly to the Site Manager. You are a strategic sparring partner for the management team and are highly visible on the shop floor. You translate laws and regulations into practical solutions, encourage safe behaviour and actively help the leadership team build a strong safety culture.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure an implemented SHE policy at the Maastricht production site with the objective of minimising workplace accidents and environmental incidents;
- Advise management and operational teams on safety, health, wellbeing and environment, including CAPEX projects;
- Increase safety awareness and ownership within the organisation, together with the leadership team;
- Ensure proper execution of (in-depth) RI&E’s, draft an action plan (Plan van Aanpak) and ensure actions are completed on time;
- Ensure compliance with Dutch and European laws and regulations, including the management of all relevant environmental permits;
- Coordinate contacts with regulators, certification bodies and external stakeholders;
- Participate in Management Team meetings, including KPI reporting and progress updates on the annual safety plan;
- Transfer knowledge and train employees at the production site in safety & health;
- Develop and implement local SHE procedures and work instructions;
- Provide advisory support in investigations of safety and environmental incidents and coordinate & follow up on corrective and preventive actions;
- Manage the SHE Specialist.
- Higher professional education (HBO) level and a completed qualification in Integral Safety Management (IVK) / Advanced Safety Management (HVK);
- Up-to-date knowledge of ISO 14001, technical production processes and Dutch and European guidelines and legislation on safety and the environment;
- Relevant work experience in production environments, preferably in the food industry;
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
- Excellent social and communication skills;
- A unifying leader;
- Personal characteristics: hands-on mentality, decisive, proactive, independent, persuasive, analytical ability and an ability to see the big picture.
