We are driven to continually innovate; every day we set higher goals and remain alert to new opportunities and details. By constantly challenging ourselves, we keep striving for better performance. This allows us to keep surprising our customers with new, tasty and easy-to-prepare snack products and concepts of the highest quality.

Responsible snacking

We take responsibility for people, the environment and society. With concrete improvements we are taking steps in the areas of health, the sustainable employability of our employees, safety, transparency, the provenance of ingredients, energy consumption and social engagement. For example, in recent years we have reduced the salt and saturated fat content of our products and actively contributed to the 'Verantwoord frituren' platform in the snack bar sector. After all, enjoying a snack also means snacking responsibly!

A healthy work-life balance is very important to us. We understand that life is more than work. We strive to give our employees the flexibility they need. Van Geloven offers flexible working hours, remote working options and support programmes so that our colleagues enjoy coming to work.

Development at Van Geloven

At Van Geloven you can develop your talents! Whether you work in the factory or in the office, we offer a range of training courses. We have a leadership training for our managers and offer a development budget to our employees. For employees in the factory we provide various training programmes. You can take a language course, be trained as an operator or earn your Lean Yellow/Orange/Green/Black Belt.

Connection

We are a modern employer. Hybrid working has long been established, partly because we have long worked from several locations. Your tasks determine where you work that day, and you set your schedule in consultation with your team and your internal or external customers. We work closely together in an open and collegial atmosphere. We share knowledge and best practices driven by the common interest and by thinking in terms of value chains and across departments. We build connections, learn from one another and standardise ways of working across our different offices and locations.

YUNG VG, the young professionals within Van Geloven

YUNG VG was set up by young colleagues at Van Geloven. We believe there is a great deal we can learn from each other and that we can grow together in our roles within our wonderful company. Whether it is about exchanging knowledge, gaining new insights or making connections, YUNG VG provides the perfect environment for this.

YUNG VG regularly organises activities. There has been an event on employee wellbeing which also included a masterclass. There has also been a pub quiz and a day organised focused on corporate social responsibility (CSR). These events are, above all, sociable, but also a good opportunity to get to know colleagues from other locations and departments.

YUNG VG Activities

Kick-off YUNG VG

The first YUNG VG event focused on personal development, connection and fun. We welcomed an external speaker who inspired us with insights and practical tips on corporate social responsibility (CSR). We also organised an interactive workshop in which colleagues could brainstorm and work on CSR projects within Van Geloven.

Employee wellbeing

At Van Geloven we attach great importance to the well-being of our employees. At our second YUNG VG event the focus was on self-awareness and on improving lives and health through small changes. We organised an interactive workshop and an inspiring presentation by a work athlete, who taught us how to raise awareness and make positive changes in our daily lives.

Snackmasters

At YUNG VG, during our third event we challenged our colleagues to showcase their creativity. We got to work coming up with and making new snacks. We made our own croquettes and worked in groups to create unique fillings for a world roll. It was a tasty and educational experience!

The one and only YUNG VG pub quiz

At YUNG VG we believe in the importance of fun and team building. Our pub quiz was the perfect opportunity to test both our knowledge of snacks and our general knowledge. It was an exciting evening full of challenging questions and good company, culminating in a delicious meal and, of course, drinks. A great chance for our young colleagues to come together, have fun and get to know each other better outside the workplace.

Salt reduction

At Van Geloven we continually strive for improvement, including in the composition of our products. During this YUNG VG event, salt reduction was the focus, along with the challenges and solutions involved. We had an exclusive tour of our factory in Helmond, where we learned about ongoing CSR projects and innovations in salt reduction. Of course there was also time to taste, for example during a frikandel tasting to experience the effects of salt reduction.

Special activities and events at Van Geloven

Home Run & Ride

Every year Home Sport Events organises the Homerun. A sporting challenge in which money is raised for the Ronald McDonald House. This year Van Geloven is taking part for the third time. Employees from all locations can sign up for it. Last year Van Geloven raised no less than €13,639.61! It’s also a great way to get to know colleagues from other locations and departments.

Family Day 2023 Tilburg

In 2023 we organised a family day for all our colleagues in Tilburg. During this day we opened our doors for a day full of fun, games and, of course, delicious food. Everyone could invite their family to come and visit Van Geloven.

Van Geloven at trade fairs

Van Geloven regularly exhibits at trade shows in the Netherlands and Belgium, including Horecava. At this event we proudly introduced our newest snack, the delicious Kaas Kipkorn. These are opportunities for professionals in the food sector to discover our innovative products, and for us to connect with our customers and share the latest industry trends.

Family Day 2023 Maastricht

In 2023, in addition to the family day in Tilburg, we also organised a family day in Maastricht. Our colleagues from Maastricht were invited to bring their families to see what we do at Van Geloven.

Staff party

We work hard together, but we also think it's important to have fun. That's why each location organises a staff party every year, where we all celebrate together.

Van Geloven Football Tournament

Every year Van Geloven organises a football tournament. We believe it is important that our employees stay healthy and it is, of course, a sociable occasion as well. Employees from all levels and departments come together for a day full of competition and fun. And of course prizes were awarded! Friends and family were welcome to come and watch and we ended the day with a delicious barbecue.

The one and only Van Geloven Christmas Truck 2023

This year we surprised our employees with a special Christmas truck that visited our locations. The truck not only brought festive cheer to our teams, but also delivered Christmas hampers filled with treats and surprises to make the holidays extra special.

Christmas Jumper Day at Van Geloven

Each year at Van Geloven we celebrate Christmas Jumper Day. On this day we invite our employees to wear their most colourful, funny or creative Christmas jumpers, creating a cheerful and convivial atmosphere on the shop floor.

Maastricht Open Day

Open days are regularly organised at our locations. During these events, visitors can take a look behind the scenes, learn more about our production processes and discover our passion for snacks. It’s a great opportunity for prospective employees to see whether Van Geloven could be right for you!

Opening of Hall 2 in Maastricht

We continuously strive for growth and innovation, and this also applies to our locations. Recently, we proudly opened a new hall in Maastricht, and we celebrated it on a grand scale with all our employees. The festive opening was attended by none other than Cora, which made the moment extra special.

Tokens of appreciation

At Van Geloven, we ensure our employees feel valued. That's why all employees receive a token of appreciation during the holidays. At the start of summer everyone also receives a small summer gift. Whether it's a festive surprise for Sinterklaas, a summer gift to kick off the season, or recognition for cultural celebrations such as Easter and Ramadan.
