FS&Q Food Safety & Sanitation Lead
- Competitive salary
- Career progression
- You’ll get in-house training
You are part of the Food Safety & Quality team and report to the FS&Q Manager. Within the team your focus is on food safety, microbiology and sanitisation: controlling hygiene through effective cleaning and disinfection.
To do this you work closely with QA, QC, production, the technical department and the cleaning partners involved. You combine investigative work and analyses with time on the production floor. There you see how processes actually run, you ask questions and help colleagues implement improvements.
What you'll do
- You carry out risk analyses and translate the results into concrete measures for food safety and hygiene.
- You investigate microbiological deviations and recurring issues, identify causes and ensure follow-up.
- You assess and improve cleaning and disinfection plans together with the involved colleagues and partners.
- You analyse measurement results and trends and verify whether control measures are demonstrably effective.
- You translate technical findings into clear recommendations, practical work instructions and improvement actions.
- You contribute your expertise to audits and ensure identified improvements are followed up thoroughly.
- You raise awareness on the production floor: you explain why measures are necessary and help colleagues apply them correctly.
You will have the space to dive deep into the technical content and remain involved in the implementation. From the initial research question to the moment an improvement is effective in practice.
You want to understand why something happens. You ask probing questions, draw connections and can explain your findings clearly to colleagues from different backgrounds. You feel at home in a production environment: you seek collaboration and take responsibility for following up on your recommendations.
What you bring to the table:
- A completed higher professional (HBO) degree in Food Technology, Food Science or an equivalent Food Science qualification.
- Relevant experience in food safety or quality assurance within food production.
- Knowledge of microbiology, HACCP and hygiene control, with experience in cleaning and disinfection practices.
- The ability to translate risks and investigation results into actionable measures.
- An analytical, meticulous approach and the persistence to trace problems back to their root cause.
- An approachable communication style that engages and persuades colleagues.
