Open all

In this strategic yet hands-on role you are responsible for further professionalising Engineering & Maintenance within Van Geloven. You directly lead engineering teams at each production site (Tilburg, Helmond & Maastricht) and work closely with the site managers of our three production sites, the maintenance managers, the management team and the finance organisation. Each site has 1 project manager CAPEX and possibly several interim engineers, depending on the number of ongoing projects. You ensure that investments, technical projects and maintenance activities contribute to our ambitious growth targets, the maximum reliability of our installations and a safe production environment.

You look beyond the day-to-day operations. You develop the technical roadmap for the coming years, oversee investment projects from concept to handover and ensure that maintenance teams progress towards a Maintenance Excellence level. No two days are the same. One day you discuss a strategic investment with engineers and the management team, the next you coach a Maintenance Manager on improving preventive maintenance or visit a supplier to learn about the latest technological developments.

Your responsibilities:

As Group Engineering & Maintenance Manager you are responsible for both the technical projects and the further development of our maintenance organisation. Specifically, you will:

  • Develop and implement the engineering and maintenance strategy for our production sites;
  • Lead investment and engineering projects from concept phase to successful implementation;

  • Professionalise maintenance processes and further develop a preventive maintenance culture in collaboration with the maintenance managers;
  • Optimise the use of maintenance systems (Rimses) and share “best practices” between sites;
  • Promote innovation, automation and continuous improvement within our technical organisation;
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors and technical partners both domestic and international;
  • Ensure compliance with safety, food safety and technical legislation and regulations;

You are an experienced technical leader who seamlessly switches between strategy and execution. You can get people on board, set clear priorities and are energised by delivering improvements that are immediately visible on the shop floor.

You also have:

  • A completed HBO or WO degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or a comparable field;
  • At least 10 years' experience in engineering, technical projects and/or maintenance management;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry;
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical projects;
  • Knowledge of maintenance strategies, maintenance organisations and CMMS systems;
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, project-based, data-driven way of working;
  • Experience with budget management, investment projects and cost analyses;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels;
  • Willingness to travel regularly between sites and to maintain international contacts.

Van Geloven is an organisation with an open and collegial atmosphere, where there is room for your personality, leadership and ideas. In this role you will have the opportunity to make a visible impact on the technical future of our organisation.

In addition, we offer:

  • An excellent salary commensurate with the responsibilities of this management role;
  • 8% holiday allowance and a 3% year-end bonus;
  • 40 days off per year (25 annual leave days + 15 ATV days);
  • A one-year contract with prospects of permanent employment;
  • A lease car, laptop and mobile phone;
  • An excellent pension scheme;

With almost 1,000 employees in the Netherlands and revenues of around €400 million, we are pursuing ambitious growth plans.
