Health, Safety and Environment Manager
As SHE Manager you are responsible for continuously maintaining a high level of safety, health and environmental performance at the Mora production site in Maastricht. You ensure the organisation always works with robust systems in place.
You are responsible for establishing, implementing and embedding all management systems relating to environment, safety and health at the Maastricht production site, in order to comply with all internal and external requirements in these areas. You report directly to the Site Manager. You are a strategic sparring partner for the management team and visibly present on the shop floor. You translate laws and regulations into practical solutions, promote safe behaviour and actively help build a strong safety culture together with the leadership team.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure an implemented SHE policy at the Maastricht production site with the objective of minimising workplace accidents and environmental incidents;
- Advise management and operational teams on safety, health, wellbeing and environment, including CAPEX projects;
- Increase safety awareness and ownership within the organisation, together with the leadership team;
- Ensure correct execution of (in-depth) RI&Es, prepare an Action Plan and ensure timely implementation of actions;
- Ensure compliance with Dutch and European laws and regulations, including management of all relevant environmental permits;
- Coordinate contacts with regulators, certification bodies and external stakeholders;
- Participate in Management Team meetings, including KPI reporting and progress on the annual plan regarding safety;
- Transfer knowledge and train employees at the production site in safety & health;
- Draft and implement local SHE procedures and work instructions;
- Provide advisory support for investigations of safety and environmental incidents and coordinate & follow up on corrective and preventive actions;
- Lead the SHE specialist.
- HBO-level education and a completed qualification in Integrated Safety Management (IVK) / Higher Safety Management (HVK);
- Up-to-date knowledge of ISO 14001, technical production processes and Dutch and European directives and legislation on safety and the environment;
- Relevant work experience in production environments, preferably in the food industry;
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- A unifying leader;
- Personal qualities: hands-on mentality, decisive, proactive, independent, persuasive, analytical ability and an ability to see the big picture.
