Royaan's journey: from independent producer to part of Van Geloven
Before the acquisition, this site was known as Royaan, a producer with a strong focus on quality and scale. At Wijk bij Duurstede, between 60 and 80 million cheese soufflés were produced annually, making this site an important player within the segment.
With its integration into Van Geloven, the site became part of a larger organisation, with well-known brands and a broader international market. Products from Wijk bij Duurstede reached markets across Europe and beyond.
The site's production and expertise have since been transferred to other Van Geloven sites, where the work continues.

Van Geloven Wijk bij Duurstede, better known locally as Royaan, was for many years a production site with a clear focus on cheese soufflés. Tens of millions of products were produced at this site each year, finding their way to both the Dutch market and international customers .
The factory supplied, among others, major foodservice companies and fast-food chains. The fully halal production environment also played a role, allowing it to cater to different markets and customer needs.
Various teams worked together on site, from production and engineering to quality and logistics. This collaboration ensured a stable production process and consistent product quality.
The Wijk bij Duurstede site was part of Van Geloven’s network following the acquisition of Royaan and its associated production sites . In line with the decision to consolidate production, this site has since been closed and its activities moved to other sites

The site formed part of Van Geloven's network, with well-known brands such as Mora and Van Dobben. In line with the strategy to concentrate production in larger, more modern factories, this site was closed.
Activities have since been continued at other Van Geloven locations, where the work and production have been further developed.
