Mora's story
A LOCAL BUTCHER'S SHOP IN MAASTRICHT
Mora began in a small local butcher's shop in Maastricht. Marcel Mourmans delivered spring rolls and croquettes from his father's butchery. He did all of this by bike. Around this time he started making his own recipes. He tried to sell the products he made to local snack bars. This was a great success. Marcel started Mora together with his wife Robby Ramaekers.
FROM BUTCHER'S BOY TO SNACK GIANT
Growth really took off! In 1972 a modern snack factory was built. In this factory, all kinds of delicious snacks are still made today. The first steps into the supermarket world were taken. Mora's success kept growing and that meant it also crossed the border. Mora's second location opened in 1975 in Mol, Belgium.
PART OF VAN GELOVEN
Since 2006 the Mora brand has been part of Van Geloven. This strengthened Van Geloven's position in Belgium and the Netherlands. Today Van Geloven is the largest snack manufacturer in Europe, with 6 locations across the Netherlands and Belgium. The factories don't only make Mora products. They also make snacks for Van Dobben, Van Lieshout and Souflesse.
