A message from management

Jan Aalzten Linde, CEO of Van Geloven

Until early 2012 I worked for a multinational. A wonderful company, but I felt something was missing. Because of the size and structure of the organisation it was difficult to make an impact and to see the results of my work. For that reason I moved to the more manageable Van Geloven, a company with strong, well-known brands in its portfolio, such as the world-famous Mora, of course.

Now, more than ten years on, I can say my expectations have been more than exceeded. We produce excellent products, experience a great deal together and get to do some of the most exciting things. But perhaps what I value most is that, together, we press the buttons ourselves and quickly see the results of our decisions. That way you can clearly see what it is all for.

Care for people, animals and the environment

The growth we have experienced as Van Geloven is impressive. The past decade shows strong figures and we naturally want to keep that momentum going. Nevertheless, we do not only consider the numbers important; we believe it is essential to pay attention to our surroundings. We see great opportunities for delicious meat-free snacks and are aiming to be around 50% meat-free by 2025! That is a challenge and requires a lot of innovation and creativity, but as market leader that leading position suits us.

We source meat from suppliers that place animal welfare high on their agenda. And of course we contribute significantly to reducing food waste and energy consumption. In short: we do what we can to keep our planet in the best possible condition. With respect for people, nature and society, we are on our way to our next destination, without forgetting where we came from. At heart we will always remain an accessible, informal family business.

At Van Geloven we love good snacks, but we care even more about people. In the factory, but also in the office and in our cars on the road, safety is our highest priority. Through extensive awareness campaigns and targeted investments we have sharply reduced the number of accidents and our ultimate goal is to register zero accidents.

Part of McCain

We became part of the family-owned company McCain in 2016, known for its potato products. With Canadian roots, McCain wants to build a snack business in Europe and has since invested heavily in our factories. This gives us a clear and stable future outlook, allows us to innovate more and makes us financially solid. We are increasingly becoming part of the McCain network as we deliver irresistible snacks through that network to the major foodservice chains across Europe.

At the same time we have plenty of scope to set our own policies in the Netherlands and Belgium: an independent company within a large parent group. Alongside financial stability, we also benefit from international career paths and from tapping into McCain's professional training and development. The best of both worlds!

"Bij Van Geloven kun je echt Impact maken"
Jan Aaltzen Linde

A warm welcome

Believe me: I wouldn't have missed the past ten years for the world. I look forward to further growth and development with our wonderful colleagues — and with new colleagues too. So you're warmly invited to apply and join us in making an even greater impact!

Thomas van Meenen, HR Director Van Geloven

Before I joined Van Geloven at the end of 2019, I worked, among others, for General Electric and ASML. Large multinationals with equally ambitious goals. In terms of size my current employer is smaller, but the plans are just as bold and ambitious. And the working atmosphere? It's excellent!

At Van Geloven you can make a difference. You can come up with something great and then implement it yourself. You can make an impact in many ways and help move the company forward. For me, that is the ultimate motivator.

Make no mistake: Van Geloven is a major player. We are very successful and financially healthy. Our foundation is rock solid, especially since the acquisition by McCain, a multinational from Canada. That gives us access to the resources and network to strengthen our position even further.

Our three Vs

There is a lot set to change, but at heart we will always remain a pragmatic, entrepreneurial company. A company with short lines of communication, no unnecessary hierarchy and a healthy work-life balance. We combine that with our core values: the three Vs. They stand for connection, responsibility and improvement.

The Vs are reflected in everything we do. Connecting describes the way we collaborate — with our colleagues, with our partners and in how we communicate with our customers. Alone we won't get far. But together we can conquer the world.

Transition to meat-free

We take responsibility towards our surroundings. For nature, by using our resources responsibly. For animals, by only working with companies that pay serious attention to animal welfare. And by producing more and more meat-free snacks – in 2025 fifty percent of our sales! We are the frontrunner in the transition from meat-based to meat-free. We welcome that leading role and are keen to take it on.

The last V stands for improvement. The acquisition by McCain gives us the chance to become even better and more professional. To make significant investments in our factories. And to raise the quality of our back office - think IT and HR processes - to a higher level. We're on the eve of a major professionalisation drive. That's incredibly exciting!

Plenty of great and challenging opportunities!

This calls for a willingness to change, but certainly also for extra capacity. That is partly why we have this Careers site. At Van Geloven we are eager to welcome skilled new people who believe in our approach. We don't judge solely on your CV. Looking for a good job in our production? You're very welcome! Do you have an HBO or WO background? Plenty of great and challenging opportunities, for example at our head office.

Alleen komen we nergens, maar samen kunnen we de wereld veroveren
