Maintenance Manager

As Head of the Technical Department your primary focus is to optimise the availability of the machinery through adequate maintenance systems.
As Head of the Technical Department it is important that you have coaching skills and that you show your people-oriented side. In this role you are expected to lead effortlessly and to be able to motivate and direct your team.
In this full-time role you lead the Technical Department. Together with your team you ensure the smooth execution of maintenance activities and various CAPEX projects. In addition, you carry out, among others, the following tasks:
•    You conduct research and provide advice on technical optimisations, new and/or replacement equipment and machines;
•    Contribute to process optimisation and standardisation, working closely with other disciplines in the operational team, such as Production, Product Development, Quality and Planning;
•    You are the driver of continuous improvement management within the Technical Department;
•    You are able to manage change processes, ensuring you take people along in the process so they remain involved and motivated;
•    You are a connector who can work cross-functionally so that all departments are involved and engaged;

• You work closely with the Production Manager;
•    You are an experienced leader who listens well and who, when necessary, can make decisions — tough on the content but soft on the person.
•    You are also jointly responsible for a safe working environment, company emergency response (BHV), laws and regulations, MJA3 and compliance with Arbo, Environmental and Hygiene procedures and measures.
You work closely with the QESH Manager and the Facilities Coordinator. You report to the Site Manager and are part of the site management team (MT). 
 

• You have a technical qualification and/or relevant experience at HBO level;
• You have at least 5 years of demonstrable work experience, preferably in the food industry;
• You have knowledge and expertise in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM);
• You have experience with CAPEX and OPEX projects.
• You are familiar with IFS, BRC or other international food safety standards;

In addition, you are a clear communicator who seeks collaboration between production and the technical department and a decisive, proactive and results-oriented organiser who takes responsibility and can bring structure to the department.

At Van Geloven Helmond, also known as Van Lieshout Snackwaren, we employ around 170 people. In Helmond we are the Netherlands' frikandel specialist; we produce various types of frikandellen as well as burgers and minced meat products for the professional market. Around 1,200,000 frikandellen come off our automated lines every day. In Helmond we make over 50 different snacks. This is more than the selection at an average chip shop. No day is the same here.

Van Lieshout Snackwaren has been part of Van Geloven since 2002. The brand's long history is still clearly visible. Although the production processes are largely automated, we still place great value on craftsmanship. This craftsmanship has already given us many hits, such as the famous BikFrik, made to an authentic butcher's recipe.

There is a large car park behind the factory; from there it is only a short five-minute walk to the changing rooms. A bus runs from Helmond station to the factory and stops practically on the doorstep.
